MOCUMENTARY
I've written a 6 part mocumentary series called Australian Legends.
Six half hour shows dealing with fictitious Australian Legends such as Brian Wilde The King of Australian Rock N Roll. Style has a strong British influence. Actually all are heavily influenced by Eric Idle's THE RUTLES which is one of my very favourite comedy films.
SITCOMS
I've written two pilots plus some episodes. I won't be putting these on the site because I think the greatest sitcoms are the greatest comedy and I have to protect some things. My style has a strong American influence.
SKETCHES
Have written maybe 400 sketches from 5 seconds to 7 minutes. With one 20 minute sketch.
Heavily influenced by Peter Cook, Alas Smith & Jones The Two Ronnies and Benny Hill. Yes Benny and of course Monty Python but you should never try to emulate their style. Well almost never.
There are only 2 things I have learnt from Monty Python but they are important.
1. Never use the names of current politicians or minor celebrities it dates the material immediately.
2. ( sketch comedy) Have a small troupe of comedians , you can all play different roles. No need for 15 comedians and 27 writers.
STAND UP
Have written over three hours of stand up material. performed about 90 minutes of material. The Lesson. You never know if it works until you do it.
PLAYS
Have written two plays. GINGER MEMORIES. Two characters in one room.
OPEN MIKE is also a play as well as film script.
And there's this other obscure (wank) thing I wrote.
