FILM SCRIPTS

In Chronological Order.

Beside them is how I rate the script out of 10. There are no scores above 7.5  because I write comedy and comedy is, well it isn't drama. And also each rewrite is worth an extra 0.5 if done properly. Although I'm harsh on myself with the ratings, that reality is that is where I see them now and with more work they can improve. I can look at these ratings and go , okay , this needs work and I know where. The Legend of Iron Maiden  4.0 is about a racehorse who cannot win a race. The problem is the contrived start to the script, probably the first 15-20 pages. The rest is pretty good.

The ones with asterisk are the ones I'd like to do first. However Ponderosa (Bonanza)  is easily my favourite.

When I think of an idea it's not for me, it's purely for an audience and essentially to make a profit. If nothing else my scripts are not a wank.

However, Open Mike is the closest to a wank, it's set in a comedy club but the premise is that the comedians in the film actually perform their own routines unless they want to do the routines I've written for the script.

The first complete script I wrote was in 1983 and all that's left of that is a short script called The Desperates. All these other scripts are from 1990 onwards.
