AFI TOP 100 COMEDY FILMS
The American Film Institute has a list of the top 100 comedy films of all time. The list is one of the biggest crocks of all time.
For starters the top ten is.
1 Some like It Hot
2. Tootsie
3 Dr Strangelove.
4 Annie Hall
5 Duck Soup
6 Blazing Saddles
7 M.A.S H
8 It Happened One Night
9 The Graduate
10. Airplane/Flying High.
The first mistake is that it's only American funded films so Monty Python and The Holy Grail, The Life of Brian and films from the Pink Panther series are not included. Nor are other great British comedies from the 60's such as Billy Liar.
THE LIST
It's a nice list with two romantic comedies in the top 10 but the best romantic comedy Pillow Talk is on another of their lists. The three Hudson/Day/Randall comedies should all be in the top 100 with Pillow talk easily top 10 and Lover Come back top 20.
